Dan Sprintzen
Daniel Sprintzen, LICSW, is a Clinical Consultant at Castle Hill Counseling & Consulting. For more than 15 years, Dan has worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for building strong connections with individuals who may be hesitant, resistant, or uncertain about engaging in therapy. He believes that meaningful change begins with trust, patience, and meeting people where they are.

Dan has extensive experience supporting families struggling with school avoidance, family conflict, anxiety, trauma, and periods of crisis. He is also highly experienced in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and working with individuals and families impacted by hoarding behaviors, helping clients better understand the underlying emotional experiences that contribute to feeling stuck. His ability to connect with people during difficult moments and help them move toward meaningful change has made him a valued resource for both individuals and families seeking support.

In addition to his clinical work, Dan has extensive experience working with immigrant populations and is fluent in Portuguese. He values the importance of cultural understanding and strives to provide services that are responsive to the unique backgrounds and experiences of the individuals and families he serves.

Outside of his professional work, Dan enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing mindfulness, and continuing to deepen his knowledge of therapeutic approaches that foster healing, resilience, and personal growth.

My Approach
I believe that effective therapy starts with building a genuine relationship based on trust, respect, and understanding. Many of the adolescents, adults, and families I work with have experienced frustration, setbacks, or previous attempts at treatment that have not felt helpful. My goal is to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward at a pace that feels manageable.

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in mindfulness. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, family systems work, and adolescent mental health treatment to help clients better understand themselves and the challenges they face. I believe that growth occurs when people develop greater compassion for themselves, gain insight into their internal experiences, and feel supported in taking meaningful steps toward change. Whether working with school avoidance, trauma, hoarding behaviors, anxiety, family conflict, or major life transitions, I focus on helping clients build resilience, confidence, and practical solutions for lasting success.
