Matthew G. Doyle
Matthew G. Doyle, LICSW, is the Founding Director and Owner of Castle Hill Counseling & Consulting. For more than 30 years, Matt has dedicated his career to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate complex emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges. His experience spans clinical practice, program development, organizational leadership, teaching in higher education, and community-based intervention, allowing him to approach problems from multiple perspectives and develop creative solutions that extend beyond traditional models of care.

Matt founded Castle Hill with a vision of reimagining how support is delivered to children and families. He recognized that many families needed more than a weekly therapy appointment; people benefit greatly from systemic collaboration, flexibility, advocacy, education, and a team approach. That philosophy continues to guide Castle Hill today and has helped shape the organization's commitment to innovative, relationship-driven care.

In addition to leading Castle Hill, Matt serves as a trainer, consultant, and educator throughout New England. He has provided professional development on family systems, attachment, trauma-informed intervention, home-based treatment, and school avoidance, and has served as an Adjunct Faculty member in a graduate social work program, and is currently the Board Vice President of the Private Practice Colloquium. His expertise has been featured by The Boston Globe and National Public Radio (NPR), where he has shared insights on supporting children, families, and schools through increasingly complex challenges.

Outside of his professional work, Matt enjoys spending time with family, labrador retriever Koda, mentoring emerging professionals, building community connections, and developing new ideas that help families thrive.

My Approach
I believe that every behavior has a story and every family has strengths that can be leveraged for growth. My approach focuses on understanding the larger context surrounding a challenge rather than simply addressing symptoms. I work collaboratively with children, parents, schools, and other support systems to identify underlying needs, strengthen relationships, and create sustainable solutions.

Over the years, I have learned that meaningful change often happens when families feel empowered rather than judged. Whether working with anxiety, school avoidance, behavioral challenges, family conflict, or trauma, I strive to create an environment that is compassionate, practical, and focused on long-term success. My goal is to help families move from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to feeling hopeful, connected, and confident in their ability to move forward.
